GOTHAM SCREEN 3rd Annual Film Festival & Screenplay Contest Announced

A Celebration of New American Cinema & International Discoveries

The dates for the 2009 GOTHAM SCREEN Film Festival and Screenplay Contest have been announced today. The festival will take place at the Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan, from October 20th thru 25th, 2009.

Join us in our third year for six days of screenings at Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan, with an eclectic selection of international and American feature films, shorts and documentaries.

Tickets and passes will go on sale in early October. For inquiries and submissions, please go to www.gothamscreen.com. Submission deadlines are in late August.

Entries for feature films, shorts and documentaries, as well as screenplays are now being accepted at www.gothamscreen.com.

Set up by a group of Gotham based producers and productions companies, the GOTHAM SCREEN screenplay contest is specifically targeted at up and coming writers who don't have agency or management representation yet but would otherwise have the talent and craft to make it in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

The popular screenplay contest comes again this year with a $2,500 cash prize for the winning screenplay, and excerpts from selected entries will be preformed live at a staged reading. GOTHAM SCREEN hopes to find writers who are serious about their craft and ready to work with producers in further developing their screenplays and stories.
